Connect Wix to Claude Code

Edit Wix client sites through Claude Code -- safely.

Who this is for

Anyone working on a client Wix website at BTT. Time needed: about 3 minutes. Requires SOP 0 (Claude Code installed).

What this does

After completing this SOP you can ask Claude things like:

  • List the Wix sites I have access to.
  • Update the contact page to include the new phone number.
  • Update the SEO title and meta description on the /services page.

Before you start

  • Claude Code installed and signed in (SOP 0)
  • A Wix login added as contributor or admin to the client site

Step 1 - Open the Connectors panel

  1. Open Claude Code.
  2. In the chat box, type / then type connector.
  3. Click /connector and press Enter.

Step 2 - Connect to Wix

  1. Find Wix in the list and click Connect.
  2. A browser window opens -- sign in with your Wix account.
  3. When Wix asks to allow Claude to access your account, click Allow.
  4. The browser closes and Wix shows as Connected in Claude.

Step 3 - Test it works

Use the Wix tools to list all the Wix sites I have access to.

Claude should return a list of Wix sites. If it does, you are done.

Step 4 - Tell Claude which site to work on

For all Wix tasks in this conversation, use the site: example-client.com

Claude remembers this for the rest of the chat.

Two hard rules -- read before every Wix task

Rule 1 - Never edit a live page directly. Duplicate first, always.

Before changing the structure or layout of any page:

  1. Ask Claude or do it manually in Wix Editor: Duplicate the page so I have a working copy.
  2. Edit the copy and use Wix Preview to check it.
  3. Ask the AM or Chris before publishing.

Rule 2 - Never look at customer or order data

Wix sites may have Wix Stores or Wix Bookings attached. Do not ask Claude to list orders, customers, bookings, members, or pull any PII. Stop and Slack Chris if a task requires this. UK GDPR applies.

OK to work with: page structure, content, blog posts, images, SEO metadata, site settings, Wix documentation.
