Having strong organic rankings is still the primary route to appearing in AI Overviews. ### ChatGPT ChatGPT (when using web browsing) uses Bing's index to find and cite sources. It tends to cite well-known, credible domains and pages that appear on established lists and directories. ### Perplexity Perplexity actively crawls the web in real time. It tends to cite pages that directly and clearly answer the specific question being asked.
