What Organic Conversions Are And How We Track Them

What an organic conversion is

An organic conversion is when someone arrives on your website from an unpaid Google search result and then takes a meaningful action — submitting a contact form, clicking to call, making a booking, or completing a purchase.

Why conversions matter more than rankings

Rankings and traffic tell you how visible you are. Conversions tell you whether that visibility is translating into business. You can rank number one for a hundred keywords and still not generate enquiries if you're targeting the wrong terms or your pages don't convert.

How we set up conversion tracking

We use Google Analytics 4 to track conversion events: form submissions, phone number clicks, email address clicks, and booking completions. Each is tagged so we can attribute it to the traffic source.

A note on cookie consent

If your website uses a cookie consent banner, visitors who decline cookies won't be tracked in GA4. This means your reported conversion numbers may be slightly lower than actual. We account for this when interpreting the data.
